WELCOME ABOUT EXHIBITS CONTACT

With camera in hand, I am always on the lookout for birds.
Whether it be on cold, snowy mornings or trudging through
swampy environs, I continually try to capture images of our
friendly feathered friends on camera.

Using digital image editing software, I remove the b/g and
manipulate the size of the birds and plants in the pictures to
fit into an 11X14 inch scheme. Then I put the images together
into a sort of collage, display the finished product on a
computer monitor, and use it as a guide for the drawing.

It seems like we hardly ever see any bird being still.
I try to capture them in their peak of performance or in their
typical rest behavior and yet enlarge them enough and show
intricate detail and color. I think these drawings enhance the
way we observe any bird, and maybe to their liking, as,
I believe, their features and personality are expressed in
the drawings. Both genders of the species are often
shown as well as indigenous plants.

Below are photos of the gallery space
where my first two exhibits took place.
